Safety investigators or aviation professionals with prior experience of aviation safety investigations. A bio must be sent to ENAC to make sure that the experience in safety investigations fits with the minimum required. All applications will be examined by the BEA before acceptance.

Résumé/Summary

Initially dedicated to BEA safety investigators, this course is intended for safety investigators with prior experience of aviation safety investigations as well as for aviation professionals aiming at participating to safety investigations. Sharing of information and exchange between participants are the added benefit of a diversified attendance.

The conduct of safety investigations

  • Hazards at aircraft accident sites
  • Organization of examination
  • BEA analysis methodology
  • AIRCRAFT group (Site and wreckage, Maintenance)
  • SYSTEM group (Flight recorders, On-board computers)
  • OPERATIONS (Meteorology, ATM and aerodrome, Flight operations, Cabin safety)
  • Organizational and Human Factor considerations in safety investigations
  • Reporting

 

 

➡️​ The training programme is delivered in two complementary parts.

 

Part 1: Distance learning (e-learning)
Access to the ENAC e-learning platform will be granted no later than Monday 26 October 2026. Participants will be required to review online presentations and complete the associated questionnaires.

Depending on their background and experience, this preparatory work may require from a few hours to several days.

Completion of all e-learning activities prior to the start of the BEA classroom training is mandatory and will be monitored.

 

Part 2: In-person training
The classroom session will take place at the BEA from Monday 23 November to Friday 4 December 2026.
